Look at these beautiful Heirloom tomatoes!
I got them through work and am turning them into tomato juice. I rough chopped them, and put 'em in a very large pot with a few carrots, celery stalks, two onions, and some red wine. They've been cooking since 11 am (it's 2 pm now) but still aren't ready to process.
I have a tight production schedule and was hoping to finish the juice before work. Oh well.
The rest of the list is on schedule. I picked up veg for the mixed veg pickles yesterday (Giardiniera), as well as fresh dill heads and pickling spice. Today I got pickling cukes. They are resting in ice water until I process them tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow is a big day. I have to make dill pickles, Giardiniera, and process the tomato juice and sauerkraut. Good thing I have the day off!
