I just found out that my favorite Amish Butter polenta from Ayres Creek Farm won't be available until July. Bummed!
Seasonality has it's ups and downs. I don't mind waiting till summer for tomatoes, and I'm crazy about the first asparagus of spring, so I can't be surprised when a crop that has to be planted, mature, be harvested, dried, and THEN ground isn't available till summer.
In the meantime, I got some Elderflowers. The blossoms have a lot of natural yeast, it makes a good fizzy wine. At least that's what I read. On the Internet.
The natural carbonation also has a nasty habit of building up in the bottles and exploding, creating a big mess.
Wish me luck.
